Fenerbahçe have officially appointed José Mourinho as their new head coach. The Portuguese manager, who was dismissed by AS Roma last season, has signed a three-year contract with the Turkish Super Lig club.
Mourinho, 61, arrives at Fenerbahçe after nearly six months of unemployment. He replaces Ismail Kartal, who left the club by mutual consent after a disappointing season.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid boss is a highly regarded tactician with a proven track record of success. He has won numerous titles throughout his career, including the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, and Serie A.
Fenerbahçe are hoping that Mourinho can help them return to the top of the Turkish Super Lig and challenge for silverware. The club has not won a league title since 2014 and has struggled in recent seasons.
